Hill & Markes Center Unveiled

Hill & Markes, a family-based wholesale distributor that dates from 1906, officially opened its $12 million distribution center and headquarters along Route 5S at the Town of Florida Business Park Friday. Operations began at the 130,000-square-foot structure last spring, and the offices were completed in the summer. The items Hill & Markes distributes — everything from janitorial cleaning products and rubber floor mats to paper goods and food mixes — are promoted in the building. You’ll find automatic paper dispensers Hill & Markes distributes installed in the bathrooms, and floor mats at the entrance. It’s the latest company to open along Route 5S: A massive Target distribution center and Beech-Nut baby food plant and headquarters are just to the east.
